Hi, I’m Sarah!

Saturday, 1 February, 2020

Assistant Manager. Horse Lover. Bachelor of Science: History. Amateur Photographer.

My name is Sarah Burton. I grew up in Bountiful, Utah. Attended college at Utah State University (Go Aggies!) and graduated with a B.S. in History and a minor in Political Science. I grew up reading books about people living around and working with horses and never thought in a million years I would be one of them. I took riding lessons for a couple months when I was 8 and I have always been comfortable around horses. Attending USU put me in a place where I met the most incredible people that were kind enough to allow me to occasionally ride their horse, Rosie.

I was introduced to the Rockin’ R by a friend that had previously worked at the ranch and was excited when 5 of us that met in college were hired to work that summer just after I finished school. I graduated May 5th and 5 days later I drove into the parking lot of the Rockin’ R thinking to myself, ‘Is this REAL life? Is this really MY life?’ I was so excited to start my journey at the ranch! And I’m equally as excited to share the journey and my experiences with you!

“No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.” -Winston Churchill

Why am I starting this blog for the Rockin’ R?

  • I want all of you to be as captivated as I am by what goes on at the ranch through good, engaging content
  • I want there to be fun, exciting, new way to learn about the place and community that I have come to love so much
  • I’ll be posting everything from activities to work projects to raising and training colts and everything in between

I want to post about things that interest all of YOU! I love feedback and want to provide the best information for you to prepare for your stay, reminisce of things you did at the ranch, and to help you stay a part of our Rockin’ R family after you leave!

Tell me what you want to see on the Blog!
