Rockin’ R Ranch is located in Antimony, Utah, about 3½ to 4 hours by car from Salt Lake City—and half an hour longer than that from Las Vegas. (When coming from Vegas, you’ll cross a time zone and “lose” an hour, so plan accordingly. Don’t worry, you’ll get it back on your way home.) While it doesn’t take a whole day (or longer!) to get here, you’ll feel like you’ve entered another world. The address of the Ranch is: 459 N. Main Street, Antimony, UT 84712.
If you enjoy mountain biking or ATVing, be sure to bring your bikes or ATV’s with you, as there are many areas nearby for off-roading. In fact, we are just a few miles from the famous Paiute Trail, one of the most famous ATV Trails in the country, a 275-mile loop with no beginning or end. If you like to fish, you’ll find world-class fishing in nearby streams or Otter Creek Lake. Antimony is located within what’s called the Grand Circle. Within an hour or so travel time by car in just about any direction, you can reach the breathtaking scenic wonders of Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Capitol Reef National Park, Arches National Park, Monument Valley, Canyonlands, and Lake Powell. We’d suggest that you plan a few extra days if at all possible so you can enjoy one or more of these incredible experiences before or after you visit the Ranch.
There’s no perfect answer to this question—our family has been here for more than 140 years, and we don’t plan to leave any time soon! We work our best to accommodate stays of anything from one to six nights. The Ranch is open each week from Monday to Sunday morning. We recommend a minimum stay of three nights, although we’ll try to accommodate whatever your schedule allows. Our check-in time is between noon and 1:00 p.m. and lunch will be your first meal with us. Check out time is by 10:00 a.m. after breakfast. We do not provide activities on your departure day. The more days you stay with us, the more trail rides and other activities you’ll be able to participate in, and the more time you’ll have to really get the feel of the Ranch and our staff’s western hospitality. If you can only stay one night, just keep in mind that you’ll have only a half day of activities. We’ll make sure that horseback riding is one of them. Our activities are extremely varied. You can spend your time with us riding a horse, tubing down the river, hiking, going on a wagon ride through town, swimming in the pond, or a myriad of other activities. You may even want to plan extra time to fish the nearby streams or Otter Creek Lake, or you may want to explore some of the nearby scenic National Parks and other attractions, using the Ranch as your home base.
In the lodge we have 37 rooms and another 4 rooms in a nearby building. All rooms have a private bathroom. Most of our rooms have two queen- or double-size beds. Some of our rooms have just one bed; and a few sleep up to seven people. We can help you choose the room that is best for you. The rooms are decorated in Old-West style, consistent with the atmosphere of the Ranch, and are a little rustic, but comfortable. You won’t find telephones or televisions in our guest rooms. You’ll really enjoy the peacefulness. However, there are phones and a television in the lodge for your use.
Absolutely! With enough advance notice, we can book all of your rooms in the same hallway or wing of the lodge so that your group is all together.
Many guests enjoy time off on their own! Cozy groups of tables and chairs are located throughout the lodge, where you can gather up a few friends for board games or puzzles. There are also lots of comfy chairs tucked into little alcoves, under windows, or in quiet walkways; you can curl up and read a good book or jot down some thoughts you want to save. There are TV’s in the game room and the conference room, and we provide a selection of Western movies. You and a friend can always shoot a game of pool or see who’s best at ping pong. Outside, lots of people like to stroll by themselves around the ranch property, lost in their thoughts and dreams—or just unwinding. Or drop by the stables, and one of our cowboys will be happy to let you help brush and feed the horses. And don’t forget the ultimate luxury: a long, peaceful nap in the privacy of your own room!
Our food is good, down-to-earth, savory home cooking. We provide three meals a day with your stay. You might get roast beef, potatoes and all the trimmings . . . or meatloaf . . . or barbecue chicken. The menu varies each day, but your sure to get some tasty home-style food. We also include a salad bar, and our cooks always plan for a yummy dessert—anything ranging from moist chocolate cake or brownies to delicious blueberry cobbler. Don’t forget to visit our gift shop, where you’ll find not only a variety of drinks and snacks for those “in-between meals” cravings, but some delicious hard-scooped ice cream cones with a variety of flavors to choose from. Yum!
Our experienced and knowledgeable staff will be able to help you with all of your activities. Beginners are definitely welcome here. Our wranglers make every effort to give patient instruction to those who haven’t previously ridden horses, roped, done barrel racing, brushed horses, or saddled up. We even offer clinics that will help you with specific skills. In the lodge, you’ll find informal, impromptu instruction on western line dancing to prepare you for the evening entertainment. Don’t worry about inexperience; we’ve got people who are eager to help you make the most of your stay with us!
The Rockin’ R Ranch provides a spectacular setting for Corporate Retreats, unrivaled anywhere else in the state. In the midst of all the fun activities you can participate in, we’ve got some fun team-building exercises to help your group work together. Our conference room provides views your team will never forget. We can even take your group up to our Cow Camp, where you’ll get your business information around a campfire and in the midst of scenery that’s usually only enjoyed by coyotes, deer, and eagles. We love to host business groups, and we’ll do everything we can to make sure you have the amenities you need. Oh, and one more thing, we’re a very family-friendly place. If you want to bring your families with you, we’ll make sure they have lots of fun things to do while you’re attending to business.
Part of the charm of the Rockin’ R Ranch is its rural feel, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Because of our remote location, nestled in a scenic valley, we’re also away from most cell phone towers. Therefore, you’ll find that most cell phone service is unavailable. You may find areas of the Ranch where your cell phone may work sometimes (Verizon and AT&T seem to be the best), but it’s best not to rely on using your cell phone while at the Ranch. We do have a phone for guest use in the lodge. You’ll need to bring a phone card for long-distance calls. Wireless internet is available in the gathering and sitting areas on the first floor of the lodge. (You’ll need to bring your own laptop computer, ipad, or other device.) Embrace the peace and quiet the Ranch has to offer and “unplug” from the tech world. You’ll be surprised by how relaxed and liberated you will feel.
We pride ourselves in having a wonderful staff that will help you have a great time while you are with us at the Rockin’ R Ranch. In lieu of tipping our staff, a service charge is added to your original invoice to cover all services during your stay. However, when you are with us, if you feel our staff has gone the extra mile in serving you, we hope you will consider rewarding them with an extra gratuity to thank them for going above and beyond. If you choose to do this at the Ranch, you may pay individual employees directly; or, if you prefer, you may pay one lump sum to our manager, and he’ll make sure it gets divided between our employees who helped you.
The Rockin’ R Ranch offers a Western Experience that includes fixens, tons of activities and a place to lay yer head. Our Rates are great!
